Rock Harbor is on Utila's North Shore and is an area of great potential for the development of vacation homes or a small scale Caribbean vacation resort. An undeveloped and largely natural area, Rock Harbor forms lagoon-styled bay protected by a fringing coral reef with fantastic view over the northern Caribbean Sea. The area is close to protected marine reserves and is acknowledged by the local scuba divers as one of the best in the Bay Islands. Locals also travel overland across the Island from the main town of Utila to catch the plentiful conch and lobsters at Rock Harbor - (although this is not officially sanctioned).
